Sunday, Oct. 3 | Above the Tide: Choptank Origins Paddle PWEC is located nearly at the mouth of the Choptank River, in the estuary. We will explore the freshwater end by kayak. Launch at the MD Route 287 (Sandtown Road) crossing for a 3-hour paddle to Greensboro. Includes shooting the low dam (head of tide) at Red Bridges. This stretch of the river can be obstructed by snags (sit-on-tops not recommended), but the fall foliage is beautiful and there may be wood ducks to see and hear. Led by Carol McCollough. BYO kayak or rent from Easton Cycle & Sport. Depart PWEC at 7:30 am, or meet at Greensboro boat ramp at 8:15, for portage. There is NO parking available at the launch site.
