What is PWEC?  

The Phillips Wharf Environmental Center (PWEC) was created to provide a hands-on experience, especially for children, with the animals and plants that inhabit the Chesapeake Bay region. In addition to learning about the environment, visitors also learn how the Chesapeake Bay Watermen harvest bay resources.

Located in the last crab shanty on Knapps Narrows, Tilghman Island, the Center offers live exhibits, aquarium displays, waterside activities, and a growing number of tours, trips, and day-long field trips. The Center is open to the general public and to groups.
